The Moir Medical Centre

We have pre-bookable appointments (morning and afternoon per GP) to enable patients book in advance GP . These are available up to 3 weeks in advance and are not usually on Mondays given that it is usually very busy following the weekend.

Each doctor also has around 6 pre-bookable telephone appointments per session whereby the patient is called by the doctor at a pre-arranged time. This can be more convenient for patients as they then don’t need to travel to the surgery to consult with the doctor.

At Regent Street, we have now also extended our opening times on a Monday and Tuesday evening from 6.30 – 9.00pm so that patients who work are able to access a doctor at a time more convenient to them. These appointments though are all pre- bookable up to three weeks in advance and it is not a ‘drop in’ or emergency service.

At the main surgery (Regent Street, Long Eaton), the remainder of the appointments are booked one session ahead (i.e. we take bookings on Tuesday morning for appointments that afternoon and Tuesday afternoon for Wednesday morning appointments) and we find this system is convenient to the majority of our patients.

The Regent Street surgery opens at 8.00am.

At Toton and Sawley branches, most appointments are booked on the day – please ring from 8.30am.

Should a patient advise the receptionist that they regard themselves as an emergency then they will be seen that day. This may be by any doctor who is working that day at the main site here in Long Eaton or at either of our branch surgeries at Toton or Sawley.

Unfortunately,there will be times when specific GPs are not available due to other commitments such as child protection meetings/ management meetings/ leave / part-time working etc.
